Because we should all do our part, no matter how big or small.
1. Ditch the toothpaste tubes
Did you know that toothpaste doesn’t have to come in a tube, or even be liquid? White Glo’s newest product the “Bite & Brush” is an eco-friendly solution to conventional toothpaste. Each dry tablet contains one portion of ‘toothpaste’, which you pop in your mouth and chew. A paste will form, and then you brush your teeth as usual. This convenient solution eliminates the need for plastic toothpaste tubes, and also leaky spills when travelling.
We’re also excited to announce that we’re in the process of developing eco-friendly toothpaste tubes made of plant fibres. These tubes will be biodegradable and help reduce the amount of plastic waste in the ocean.
2. Floss with corn!
While dental floss is fantastic for your teeth, traditional floss is becoming increasingly problematic for the environment. Being made of nylon (which is non-biodegradable), it spends a longer time in landfill, and a lot of the time ends up in our oceans and waterways.
White Glo’s Eco Friendly Corn Based Dental Floss is a 100% biodegradable solution to traditional floss, and is coated in natural plant wax. The entire packaging is plastic-free and biodegradable - how good is that?
3. Bamboo is the way forward
If you really want to step up your eco game, ditch the humble plastic toothbrush and opt for bamboo. Billions of plastic toothbrushes are discarded around the world each year, many of them ending up in oceans. Plastic toothbrushes are not only problematic for sea life - they often get permanently trapped in their systems, but also spend upward of 500 years in landfill.
White Glo’s Bamboo Toothbrushes are made of sustainably grown biodegradable bamboo that breaks down naturally when disposed of (only taking 3-4 months). They also have premium deep cleaning bristles that can access hard to reach areas on the teeth and gums for a healthier mouth and brighter smile.
These are just some of the small ways we can look after the environment from our bathrooms. If we all do our part, we can truly make a difference to the health of our planet.
